UPDATE - 07/31/10
ummer finds me hard at work composing
the Joseph score and simultaneously managing the inevitable rigors of [1]
Casting and [2] Fundraising; more about these later! I have completed four
out of six of Bert's wonderful narratives for Joseph. I also have two
completed choruses with a third on the way. I am shooting for end of summer
for a complete piano-vocal rendition. September will bring the orchestral
scoring.
The "Agon" is very compact with
a four member cast. The soprano and tenor sing comprimario solos and double
as members of an SAT chorus. I am pleased to announce that baritone
Ethan Watermeier has signed on to sing the title role of Joseph. I have had
the pleasure to work with Ethan in The Poor Soldier and on other
occasions. The part of Miriam will be sung by soprano Deborah Savoy and the
alto by Ann-Marie Grathwol.
I have been humbled by the generosity
of friends and benefactors towards this venture. Although we have a ways to
go, significant progress has been made toward our goal of $10,000. Should
you wish to help us (and I pray that you do!), please direct your
contributions to:

A friend of mine once defined "fun"
as "that which passes the time and engages you fully." If this is so, then
fun can only begin to define this experience.
Have a wonderful summer!
